The jEdit Text Editor

<groupicon> jEdit is a programmer's text editor that can be installed on a computer running most any operating system. It is not a Integrated Development Environment like Wing or Eclipse. Instead, it provides a large collection of tools for creating and editing text files including program source files. Some of it's features include:

• Written in Java so, it runs on most computers.
• Contains a large number of plugins to expand its capabilities.
• Performs indenting and syntax highlighting for hundreds of languages.
• Allows for editing remote files.
